Rogers mobile speed test results with HTC One on LTE

The new HTC One gets 10mbps download and 1.5mbps upload on Rogers network.

Being a Wind Mobile customer for more than a year and a half now, I have always been disappointed with their mobile speed (specifically the upload rate).

Today, I went to Vaughan Mills Mall where they had a display for the HTC One. After talking with the sales person for a few minutes, I convinced him to demonstrate the speed test for Rogers which he was using as a carrier for the new device.

To my surprise the upload speeds were significantly faster and the ping times were about 1/3 of what I am getting with Wind. I pay $45 per month after taxes for unlimited everything. I don’t even think you can get data on a plan for $45 with Rogers, can you? The real question is whether or not the premium is worth it or not. This is really a personal decision and depends heavily on circumstance.

As an aside, I recently purchased a Galaxy Nexus for $169 from Wind through their lightly loved program or promotion. Unfortunately, I did not get to test my device with Rogers SIM card and also Wind does not support LTE speeds as far as I know.

This post was done 100 percent from my phone using the built in dictation feature in Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean so please excuse the mistakes.

UPDATE: I had to edit this post due to some inaccuracies in my dictation. I also found out that Wind can only guarantee download speed of 1mbps and will not open a ticket for slow upload speed or latency. I have a ticket open with them and may post about it once it unfolds.
